How can it be day five already?

We are on day five! Since I last blogged we saw more historical places, tried more food (I know they say it is beef but I just don’t think so), lost a phone, demonstrated really great team work in effort to find the phone, navigated some group mini “storming”, interviewed five remarkable Mongolian women leaders, taught and engaged our students in conducting narrative research, shopped, walked…a lot, heard an amazing thunder storm, experienced intense down pours, walked the streets on election day, figured out the money, learned a couple of key phrases to communicate (although many in the city know English), attended a networking event with other folks studying Mongolia, been followed by a cute puppy that we are not allowed to touch, showered super near complete strangers in non gendered bathrooms and have shared breakfast with people from around the globe. In a nutshell :)

I am blown away by the women Mongolian leaders we have interviewed and love the art and architecture of the city. What has been most significant though is seeing how completely impacted our students have been through this adventure, and we are only on day 5/6. I have never seen anything like it! As much as I deeply miss my family, I am glad it is for something that feels like it has the potential to be really important work.
