En route

We are enroute to Seoul, Korea – 11pm local time with 7 hours left of flight meaning I think my kiddo and husband are probably having dinner back home right about now. If you have ever have the opportunity, fly Korean Air! We have cozy blankets, slippers, a toothbrush and toothpaste (my kid is going to love the Korean tooth paste) and a ton of free newer movies to pass the time. They also let you check two bags for free! What? In addition, they have the most stylishly dressed air crew I have ever seen!

I am still reeling from the transition from the very full week of work, travel prep and spending as much time with my family as I could before leaving. This is the hardest part of being a driven working professional with a family, when I need to leave them. I know that in the long run it will be worth it and definitely difficult right now. But the student’s excitement is infectious and I am getting reminded of all of the awesome research we will be engaging in over the next three weeks. What an amazing opportunity.

Oh my last note is about Vancouver BC airport. I have never flown out of this airport and was extremely impressed. It was organized and the security screening was smooth, quick and kind. Sold! Not to mention that it is closer than Seatac. SOLD!
